Saskatchewan Library Week

To celebrate Saskatchewan Library Week, the library staff has organized the following events:

The www.mysmhs.com Bookmark Promotion
All students and staff have received a bookmark to promote the new St. Mary High School blog (My St. Mary High School) available at http://www.mysmhs.com/. The bookmark lists useful websites, usernames and passwords and has a QR code that can be read by any smartphone (download of QR code reader app is required). The bookmark also has four digits on it. Listen for the daily digits and collect your reward at the library during the breaks.

Student Book Promotion PowerPoint Slides Contest
Students are invited to create a PowerPoint slide that promotes a book available at the SMHS library. The slide must be emailed to smhslibrary@cec.pacsd6.sk.ca by Friday at 3:30 p.m. Each slide is an entry into a student draw, as well as towards a classroom participation reward. These PowerPoint slides will be displayed on the TV's in the Commons.

Staff Book Promotion Book Jackets
Staff are invited to submit a title of a book available at the SMHS library. The library staff will then create and laminate an image of the book jacket for the staff member to display in a classroom or office. Each book title is an entry into a draw.

Companies from around the world will donate 10 grains of rice for each question that is answered correctly. Questions are categorized into different subjects (languages, geography, humanities, math, chemistry, English) and different levels.

To play, select the image or link above, or the permanent bookmark banner at the bottom of the right panel of this web page.

SASKATCHEWAN
"St. Mary High School took on a Terry Fox Challenge that was a feat of strength and endurance truly worthy of Terry Fox. In honour of staff battling cancer, students and staff teamed up to pull a 13,048 kg school bus and raised over $4,000. Terry once said, "Anything is possible if you try." Our friends at St. Mary High School proved just how true that is."
